My first encounter with GIS was as an undergraduate Environmental Studies & Biology major at Carthage College. I was blown away by this new technology. I knew immediately that GIS would dramatically grow in the future and I wanted to be a part of that growth. In 2005, I completed the GIS Certificate Program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee; where I earned a Master of Science degree from the Department of Geography the following year. That same year I accepted a GIS Specialist position with the Eau Claire County Department of Planning and Development. In 2014, with increased demand for GIS services, I assisted in the creation of a GIS Division for Eau Claire County. With the formation of the division I was promoted to GIS Administrator. In 2016, I was appointed Land Information Officer for the county.
Over the past 8 years I have also taught GIS courses at both UW-Stout and UW-Eau Claire.
